HOLDING ON TO HEAVEN

Paul shared a powerful reminder that drifting happens unintentionally. We need to fix our eyes on Jesus, who has secured our anchor in Heaven.

1️⃣ What stood out to you most from Sunday’s message?

Hebrews 2:1 warns us that if we don’t listen carefully to the truth we have heard, we may drift away from it.
2️⃣ Can you think of a time when you drifted away from God? What did you do to re-anchor yourself in God?

Hebrews 6:19–20 says, “We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, where our forerunner, Jesus, has entered on our behalf.”
Paul shared three ways to anchor ourselves in Him:
– Take hold
– Run light
– Fix your eyes
3️⃣ Which of these ways would make the biggest impact on your relationship with God in this season?

Hebrews 12:1–3 encourages us to throw off everything that is slowing us down so that we can run this race well!
4️⃣ Is there anything that is slowing you down?

Hebrews 12:1 reminds us that we are surrounded by “a great cloud of witnesses”.
5️⃣ Do you have a special loved one in heaven whom you are excited to see again?

– Before praying, invite your group to share praise reports and answered prayers.
– Thank Jesus for making it possible for our hope to be secure in Heaven!
– Join us in praying for our country as we head into a time of elections.
– Pray for the needs within your Small Group.
